About Cache Creek
There are a few different versions about how Cache Creek achieved its name. There are some who say the name came from the gold rush era, this being an area where the gold diggers tired out and found it to be a good place to hide their Cache of gold with the intent to return for it later — To this day there is still a rumor there still may be gold hidden in “them thar hills.”
There are other stories that claim a bank robber from Barkerville stopped in Cache Creek to hide his Cache and others say that a “Mr. Cache” settled along the creek.
No matter what the story, they're all fun to talk about and imagine the history behind such a beautiful place. We hope you enjoy your stay.
